Custom Terminals, Housings and Wafers

CSG manufactures custom electronic connector terminals, housings and wafers according to defined product requirements, with mold development for applicable components.

Custom projects can start from an engineering drawing, CAD file, existing sample, part number or product specification.

What Can Be Customized?

Connector Terminals

Customization may include terminal geometry, dimensions, contact structure, material, plating, retention features and mating configuration.

Connector Housings

Housing customization may include position count, pitch, dimensions, terminal arrangement, locking features, mounting structure and connector orientation.

Connector Wafers

Wafer customization may include position count, pitch, terminal arrangement, orientation, terminal positioning, insulating structure and mounting configuration.

Connector Configuration

Depending on the product, the overall connector configuration may also involve mating arrangement, insertion direction, orientation and mechanical interface.

Mold Development
For applicable custom components, CSG provides mold development as part of the manufacturing scope.
Tooling is developed according to the approved product design. Changes to pitch, position count, geometry, locking structure or mounting features may affect tooling requirements.

Custom Manufacturing for Existing Connectors
If you already have a connector in production, CSG can evaluate the existing product as a manufacturing reference.
Useful information includes the original part number, physical sample, drawing, CAD file, photographs and mating connector information.

Custom Manufacturing for OEMs
For OEM projects, custom connector requirements may be defined by the equipment's installation space, contact count, pitch, mating connector, terminal arrangement, mounting method, locking structure, material and plating.
The expected production quantity and application can also be included in the project requirements.

Custom Manufacturing for Distributors & Wholesalers
Custom projects for distributors and wholesalers may include customer-specific connector components, modified existing products and products developed for repeat resale.
CSG can work from your customer's drawing, sample, part number or product specification and manufacture the required terminal, housing or wafer configuration.
Packaging, labeling and product identification requirements can also be defined for regular supply.

Custom Manufacturing Process
Requirement → Technical Review → Manufacturing Evaluation → Mold Development → Sample Verification → Specification Confirmation → Production
The actual process depends on the product structure, tooling requirements and available technical information.

What to Send for a Custom RFQ
For an initial review, send the product information you already have:
2D drawing, 3D CAD file, existing sample, part number, dimensions, tolerances, position count, pitch, material, plating, application and expected quantity.
If the project is for an existing connector, the sample or original part number can be used as the starting reference.
For new projects, provide the available engineering requirements and expected production quantity.

Start Your Custom Connector Project
Send your drawing, CAD file, sample or existing part number to CSG.
Our team can review the available product information and determine the appropriate manufacturing requirements.
